I hope he has his fishing license. It's not every day that a dog shows you up when it comes to fishing, but that is precisely what happened in this pond - giving a whole new meaning to labrador retrievers. While out on a private pond, a family was having fun with their dog, tossing a tennis ball and having the dog swim out to get it. Whether for duck season prep or an energy burner, it's an everyday activity for dog owners. On one specific toss, though, the dog was not quick enough, and the tennis ball was snatched up. Not by another four-legged friend, though, but a bass. As the dog swims out to retrieve his ball, the fish clamps down on the green tennis ball. The dog does not let his ball get away from him though, and chomps down on it with the fish's mouth still around it.
"Buddy's got the fish and everything!" The friends watching the incident are yelling as they witnessed it all happen. The fish did not put up a powerful fight as the dog carried it and his beloved toy to the shore. Once he hit land, the owner told the dog to drop the ball and fish, and the dog plopped the ball and fish on the ground. The bass must have had a pretty tight grip on the ball, as it's still lodged in the mouth after hitting the ground. As for the dog? He is beyond proud of his work, wagging his tail in victory that he did not let the fish claim the ball as its own. Now THAT's a retriever. This dog was getting his ball one way or the other. https://www.instagram.com/p/C8aDDS4RPoN/
