ODESSA, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – Ector County ISD recently awarded two scholarships to five incoming college freshmen.

The “Pathways by One Objective Scholarship” and the “Anthony Bolton Scholarship,” named after an organization member that passed away earlier this year, were presented to students that the district said shows qualities like academic excellence, strength of character, leadership, and dedication.

“We started our organization a little over four years ago and this is the first time we’ve actually given the scholarships out. We’ve had a couple different golf tournaments and outings, we also do other things mostly centered around mentorship with young men but this is the first time we’ve been able to give the $5,000 scholarships,” said Geremy Willard, President of One Objective.

One Objective is a non-profit focused on helping the youth in the area. The scholarships awarded $5,000 to students to help with their education expenses in the coming year.
