A lot to watch, little to fret about along the northern Gulf Coast over the next 5 days. Tropical Storm Alberto is bringing sizeable coastal impacts from Mexico to Louisiana. Expected to make landfall later today-tonight in Mexico.

Coastal Flooding will continue outside of levee protection through Thursday afternoon with high tides tomorrow morning-mid day.

Both the GFS & Euro highlighting weak development possible by late weekend-early next week. National Hurricane Center is giving a 40% chance of development.

Latest steering pattern indicates that the ridge over the southern U.S. will keep any tropical mischief pinned in the southern Gulf, preventing this disturbance from lifting towards the northern Gulf. Additional heavy rain likely into south TX/Mexico.

Very hot conditions by the weekend into early next week before rain chances pick up by middle of next week, which should allow highs to return to near normal levels.

Now, what else is worth watching? GEFS Ensembles & the Euro Ensembles shown below also signaling another tropical wave entering the western Caribbean in 7-10 days. Nothing to fret along the northern Gulf Coast, just some longer term things were keeping an eye on. Tis the season.
