Governor Kathy Hochul Announces Free Admission to All New York State Parks Amid Record Heat

    2024-06-20

In response to the expected record temperatures, Governor Kathy Hochul announced on Tuesday that all New York State Parks will offer free admission this Wednesday and Thursday.

“Extreme heat can be dangerous for New Yorkers,” Hochul stated. “I’m doing everything I can to help families stay safe and cool this week.”

Additionally, Woodlawn Beach State Park will temporarily open ahead of the season to provide more options for New Yorkers seeking relief from the heat.

“I encourage everyone to take advantage of free and early admission to our world-class beaches, pools, and other State Park sites to beat the heat as we expect record temperatures across the state,” Hochul added.

This initiative aims to ensure that New Yorkers have safe and enjoyable places to cool down during the heatwave, underscoring the governor’s commitment to public safety and well-being.
