Free HIV testing in Monroe County

MONROE — To mark National HIV Testing Day, the Monroe County Health Department will offer free, confidential HIV testing on June 27.

Testing will be available by appointment or walk-in at the health department at 2353 South Custer Rd. in Monroe. Services will be offered between 8:30 and 11:30 a.m. as well as between 1 and 4 p.m. To make an appointment call 734-240-7840.

“Knowing your HIV status is empowering and keeps you and others healthy,” Bridget Huss, personal health director of the Monroe County Health Department, said. “Our department can help you with partner notification, treatment, and connecting you to resources.”

In addition to free HIV testing, the Monroe County Health Department offers PrEP and PEP — prevention options for people at high risk of HIV — as well as free condoms and other barriers.
