When I was six years old, my parents surprised me by announcing our first Disney World vacation on Christmas Day, and it's still a moment I remember like it was yesterday. Everything is so big and exciting when you're a kid, and there are few surprises better than finding out you're about to go on an adventure!
In this video, a young boy named Roman is about to experience a huge vacation surprise of his own. He thinks he's just dropping his uncle off at the airport for his flight to Greece... what he doesn't realize is that he's about to join him!

Roman's dad @oligodfrey92 and his uncle executed the perfect reveal, turning a mundane airport drop- off into the memorable start of an epic Greek vacation . The moment Roman realized that his uncle wasn't pulling his leg, he burst into happy tears- if I were in his shoes, I'd be doing the same. He was so psyched to join his uncle on a big adventure!

I'm happy to report that Roman is already having a blast on his surprise family vacation . A day after posting the big surprise, Roman's dad Oli shared a video of Roman and his uncle racing each other down the water slides at a sunny Greek resort. Now that's how you kick off a summer vacation!
Family Vacations Are the Best
This video got a lot of attention online, and while the surprise vacation reveal was awesome on its own, people were really struck by Roman's genuine, grateful reaction.
"He's been brought up so well. Such a grateful kid! Hope he has a fab holiday," praised @zariparii.
"Can just tell this kid deserves it, his reaction says it all," @tikmeoff59 echoed.
But what really touched people was the obvious close bond Roman and his uncle shared. Compared to parents and grandparents, the beauty of strong relationships between aunts and uncles and their "niblings" often goes overlooked. Writing for the Washington Post , Monica Leftwich talks about the important roles aunts and uncles play in a child's life, acting as positive adult influences and as safe, trusted friends when kids need a new perspective or sage advice. This family clearly has that supportive dynamic on lock!
