    New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell attends climate conference in Kansas City

    NEW ORLEANS ( WGNO ) — New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell is in attendance at the 92nd Annual Meeting of the United States Conference of Mayors on Thursday, June 20 in Kansas City, Missouri.

    According to city officials, Cantrell and other mayors from across the country will participate in two panels titled “Advancing a Circular Economy: Recycling in Your Community” and “City Scale Solutions to Your Climate and Sustainability Goals.”

    Two bills signed into law allow easier access to life-saving medications in Louisiana schools, businesses

    The panelists will discuss prevalent environmental issues regarding climate change, recycling, carbon footprint and navigating severe weather conditions.

    Following the conference, Cantrell will accompany Harry Coker, Jr., the cyber director of the White House National, and others to speak about how the city of New Orleans responded to the 2019 cyber attack .
