    Road closures announced in Wilkes-Barre for PrideFest

    WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Wilkes-Barre Mayor George Brown released a statement notifying drivers of the road closures in Wilkes-Barre for the NEPA Rainbow Alliance PrideFest Parade and Celebration.

    According to the release, on Sunday, June 23, the lineup for the parade begins at 11:00 a.m. and the parade will begin at 12:00 p.m. and continue until 4:00 p.m.

    Officials say the lineup will be on South Main Street between Ross and South Streets, South Street between South Washington and South Main, and South between Franklin and South Main Streets.

    As stated in the release the streets surrounding Public Square from East Market from Washington Street to Public Square, West Market from Franklin to Public Square, South Main from Northampton to Public Square, and North Main Street from Butler Lane to Public Square will be closed between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

    The parade route will be closed between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM, officials note.
