Costco Just Added Two Summery Muffins to the Bakery Section for Mornings When It's Too Hot To Cook

Picture this: you wake up on a sunny summer morning and the thermostat already tells you it’s going to be a hot one. Time to…fire up the oven to bake some muffins? Yeah, we don’t think so. On hot summer mornings, often the last thing we want to do is cook even an easy breakfast recipe , but there’s no denying that without eating breakfast, we’re setting our day up for failure. Thankfully, Costco’s famous bakery section has the solution, and it’s tastier than ever. That’s because the warehouse giant just added two seasonal muffin flavors to its bakery section, and we can’t tell if we’re more excited for the returning flavor, or the one that’s brand new.

Instagrammer CostcoHotFinds sounded the alert on the muffins. Though Costco has sold Raspberry Lemon muffins in the past , this year, they come with a twist — a crunchy lemon streusel topping, which gives them a sweet-tart flavor. Additionally, the muffins are wrapped in parchment paper liners instead of the typical paper liners, and they come in a pack of eight, rather than the usual pack of six. This means the muffins are a little smaller, but it’s honestly a lot more practical, because we often find ourselves only eating a half of the giant six-pack muffins at a time anyway.

Also being sold in the eight-pack is a new muffin flavor that totally makes us think of our favorite summer ice cream: butter pecan. CostcoHotFinds shares that the muffins are buttery, soft, and moist.

The muffin eight-packs are being sold for $6.99, and unlike Costco’s muffin six-packs, you don’t need to buy two packages of them at a time. However, both of these flavors are so appealing, we won’t be surprised to hear that folks are doubling up anyway. Many Costco shoppers on Reddit have reported that they tend to freeze the second pack of muffins, and that’s a great way to ensure that you always have an easy breakfast on hand, even on hot summer days when no-cook recipes seem like too much effort.
