Pizza Hut Just Launched 4 New Pizzas and They Look Amazing

Pizza Hut loves getting creative with its menu, and those of us who grew up with it in the late 1900s and early 2000s know this well. Throughout the years, it's offered every type of pizza you can imagine and now it is releasing a new style of pizza for the first time.

The Hut recently announced that it will be bringing four new Tavern-style pizzas to its menus nationwide and we can't wait to sink our teeth into this!

What is Tavern Style Pizza?

Tavern-style pizza hails from Chicago, but it has a cracker-thin crispy crust that is still somehow chewy thanks to the “curing” process that is used to make it. It also usually features a “party cut,” which is done in smaller squares to feed a bar crowd.

This ain't deep dish style, that's for sure!

The new recipes will include a Pesto Margherita, The Ultimate, Spicy Chicken Sausage, and Double Pepperoni—though you can select the tavern-style crust on any one of Pizza Hut’s existing pizzas, too. The new pizzas can be ordered with your favorite existing crust, as well.

The restaurant is the first global pizza chain to offer this style of pizza on its menus nationwide. Typically, you can only find it at local pizza joints or regional chains.

The chain used to sell a thin-crust pizza called The Edge, which was cut into squares, but this is the first true tavern-style offering the pizza chain has ever had.

They Added New Toppings and Sauces

Pizza Hut also added Spicy Marinara Sauce, Pesto Sauce Swirl, Chicken Sausage, Fresh Diced Garlic, Grape Tomatoes, Caramelized Onions, Fire Roasted Peppers, and Crispy Cupped Pepperoni to the options of sauces and toppings. These ingredients will automatically come on the new recipe pizzas and they’ll join the regular menu to help you dress up your favorite order.

The Pesto Margherita is made with sweet marinara, grape tomatoes, garlic, basil pesto, and Parmesan-oregano seasoning. The Ultimate features sausage, pepperoni, fire-roasted peppers, onions, grape tomatoes, and Parmesan-oregano seasoning.

The Spicy Chicken Sausage comes with spicy marinara, chicken sausage, fire-roasted peppers, caramelized onions, and Parmesan-oregano seasoning. The Double Pepperoni has sweet marinara, classic pepperoni, crispy cupped pepperoni, and Parmesan-oregano seasoning.

These pizzas are available at participating locations now, and we can't wait to try them all! This is a huge change and we're here for it.
