WIOTA, Wis. -- Two people were arrested after Lafayette County deputies discovered a marijuana growing operation Tuesday afternoon, Sheriff Reg Gill said.

Detectives and deputies searched a home in the 9400 block of Pecatonica Road at around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday as part of an ongoing investigation involving the Lafayette Sheriff's Office and Darlington police.

During the search, deputies allegedly found a marijuana growing operation as well as cultivated and processed marijuana. Gill said multiple guns were found in the home and were removed because they were easily accessible to children.

Allen Taylor, 40, and Patricia Taylor, 39, were arrested taken to the Lafayette County Jail. Online court records show that both are charged with manufacturing or delivering THC, possessing THC with intent to deliver, maintaining a drug trafficking place, possessing drug paraphernalia and two counts of child neglect where specified harm did not occur.

Both were scheduled to make an initial appearance in court Thursday afternoon. An investigation is ongoing.
