President Joe Biden pulled ahead of former President Donald Trump in FiveThirtyEight’s latest average of polls with the president leading in the last five national polls measured.

Biden posted only a 0.1% lead over his presumptive opponent in November, according to FiveThirtyEight data averages, but the five latest June polls measured — from YouGov, Morning Consult, Fox News, and others — have Biden leading by either one or two points.

Biden is currently averaging 40.6% support while Trump is pulling 40.5%. Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is meanwhile averaging just under 10%. It’s the first time Biden has led Trump in months. The former president had a lead of 0.8% in May and 2.1% in April.

More than 50% disapprove of both candidates. According to polling, 41.5% have a favorable opinion of Trump while 53.8% do not. For the president, 38.7% approve of his performance while 55.9% disapprove.

Trump’s recent polling leads over Biden have led to other concerns and debates among commentators, including whether Biden is losing support from a significant amount of Black voters. CNN’s Harry Enten marveled recently about a collection of polls finding Trump had tripled his support among Black voters since 2020, from 9% to 21%. Biden had meanwhile seen his support dip slightly from 86% to 70%.

Biden and Trump are scheduled next week for the first debate , which will air Thursday on CNN from Atlanta. Kennedy Jr. did not meet the requirements to make the debate stage.
