BAYBORO, N.C. (WNCT) — Pamlico County is implementing a water conservation emergency plan due to dry weather conditions and increased water usage.

Phase one, a voluntary phase, asks that customers of the Pamlico County Water Department report or repair any water leaks, fill their sink when washing and rinsing dishes, only run the dishwasher and washing machine when they are full, take shorter showers, collect rainfall for irrigation in a screened container, apply mulch around shrubs and flower beds to reduce evaporation and to stop hosing off driveways/decks/porches.

County officials stated that the declaration will remain in place until further notice. For questions and concerns contact the Pamlico County Water Department at (252) 745-5453.
