Kim Kardashian is once again facing backlash from her fans following another controversial Instagram post.
On June 4th, the 43-year-old Skims founder shared some pictures of herself posing in an outfit from Erl , the same brand which was behind the bespoke costume 11-year-old daughter North West wore during her controversial performance in The Lion King 30th Anniversary — A Live-to-Film Concert Event at the Hollywood Bowl last month. Kim Kardashian Comes Under Fire For Posing In A ‘Lion King’ Inspired Outfit
When Kim and Kanye West ‘s firstborn took to the stage to perform “I Just Can’t Wait To Be King” as Simba last month, she faced a lot of backlash for many reasons. As well as being slammed for nepotism, another one of the things the internet took issue with was the costume, as her bespoke Erl ‘fit didn’t look like what young Simba traditionally wears in the stage production of the hit musical.
The mom-of-four wanted to showcase Erl even more, and shared a carousel of pictures of herself posing in the Lion King inspired outfit with her 362M followers. Unfortunately, it didn’t go down well with her fans, as they deemed it a completely narcissistic move , and one which they felt stole the spotlight from her young daughter.
Fan Reactions
“Full on narcissist,” slammed one Instagram user in the comments section of the post. “So Kourtney was right,” commented one Kardashian fan, followed by a crying laughing emoji. “What did Kourtney say?” asked a curious fan, to which one dutifully replied: “She said Kim can’t let anyone just have their moment. She finds some way to make it about her. And here we are.”
“You couldn’t let your daughter have a moment, you had to wear it too,” criticized one fan. “Kim always wanna make things about her,” echoed another. “Your daughter did the play. Not you,” stated another fan. “Lol just takes her kid’s spotlight,” wrote another, followed by a shocked face emoji. “So she couldn’t just let her daughter shine by herself?” asked another in agreement.
“This is SO weird and embarrassing,” slammed another fan, as someone else exclaimed: “Girl, you got some issues, lol!” “Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should,” thought another fan, while someone else commented: “The whole thing is cringe. Like her and her family.” Another simply called the whole thing “ridiculous.” “Kim this is embarrassing to see,” wrote another.
