It’s also worth keeping an open mind, as you never know where you’ll find your next favorite piece of clothing. “I have found great pieces in the men’s department, Goodwill, and even stores that aren’t my style,” Thomas Throckmorton explains. “If you do the work to understand your style, you can find pieces that help you create the look you want.”

Thomas Throckmorton also recommends shopping online vs. in-store for a more enjoyable experience. “I suggest ordering more than you need and in multiple sizes,” she explains. “It takes the pressure off of trying to make something work that doesn’t,” she adds.
