    Public Records: Fairfield County restaurant inspections

    The following are restaurant inspections with critical violations, as conducted by the Fairfield County Health Department from June 10-14.

    June 10

    Luxe Rehab and Care Center - Sheridan Wing, 957 Becks Knob Road SW, Lancaster. Observed a number of gaps in practices and procedures that could allow for a foodborne illness to occur. Observed visual evidence of food debris in the handwashing sink. The sink had either been used to dump food or a backup occurred in the drain. Observed the inside chute of the ice machine with mold present. Observed the grease trap removal and pipes in the Sheridan kitchen were not maintained and caused a back-up into the kitchen. Food preparation continued in this kitchen during this time. In addition, standing water was observed in the two adjoining storage rooms off the kitchen.

    June 11

    Circle K #4705717, 950 Baltimore Somerset Road, Baltimore. Observed some fountain beverage nozzles and fountain beverage grating to have residues present. Observed soda fountain nozzles and catch rack with debris present.

    Maple Leaf Snack Bar (Pool), 2151 W. Fair Ave., Lancaster. Observed the temperature of the refrigerator to be 52 F. The thermometer in the refrigerator was reading 54 F.

    Speedway #9179, 1470 E. Main St., Lancaster. Observed no employee health policy. Observed black slimy residue in the ice shoot on the fountain soda dispensers.

    Lancaster Campground Cafeteria, 2151 W. Fair Ave., Lancaster. Observed an ice machine with pink and black slimy spots on the ice tray. Observed the sink labeled for food washing does not have an approved air gap.

    Cristy's Pizza-West, 914 N. Pierce Ave., Lancaster. Observed there is no air gap on the three-compartment sink.

    Moose Lodge #955, 1201 Sugar Grove Road SE, Lancaster. Observed food residue on the potato slicer. Observed slimy residue and fruit flies in the soda gun and soda gun holster.

    June 12

    Rushcreek Processing and Deli LLC, 116 S. Mulberry St., Bremen. Observed meats packaged without safe handling instructions.

    Bremen Petroleum LLC, 166 N. Broad St., Bremen. Observed no health agreement. Observed sandwiches in the cooler without date marking. Observed out-of-date baby food.

    American Legion Post 677, 11410 Smith Road NW, Lithopolis. The person in charge (PIC) is unable to demonstrate knowledge by having no critical violations. Observed a blue ice scoop stored inside the ice machine in the back kitchen to have black residue on the scoop. Observed bar ice machine with black residues on the inside side walls. Observed an ice machine in the back kitchen with black residue on the inside side walls. Observed pre-cooked chicken breast patties in a standing cooler, located by the bar area door, with no date marking. Observed Raid Ant Spray can under the three-compartment bar sink and underneath the counter near the microwave area in the kitchen.

    June 14

    Dairy Queen, 1150 E. Main St., Lancaster. Observed no air gap from the ice machine connected to the soda machine.

    Circle K #4705556, 1299 N. Memorial Drive, Lancaster. Observed no employee health agreement on file.
