    Morrison County Board of Commissioners Briefs

    In other business Tuesday, June 18, the Morrison County Board of Commissioners:

    • Appointed Ellen Kalahar-Grissom to the Morrison County Extension Committee for District 3. She will serve out the term from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2026;

    • Authorized Information Technology to enter into an agreement with Now Micro for implementation of the management software Intune and consulting services at a cost of $7,200;

    • Approved the renewal of a precious metal dealer license for DS Coin, effective from June 1 through May 31, 2025;

    • Approved new food, pool and lodging (FPL) licenses for Northern Lakes Cleaning, doing business as The Tiny Timber, Lake Shamineau Cabin Rental and Castaway Cove, each for $500;

    • Approved a one-day temporary on-sale liquor license for Jack Pine Brewery LLC to sell liquor at the Freedhem 76 bicycle race to be held at the Freedhem Store on Saturday, July 6;

    • Approved the on-sale liquor license renewal for St. Joseph Church of Morrill, doing business as St. Joseph Parish Hall, effective July 1 through June 30, 2025;

    • Removed former Auditor/Treasurer Chelsea Robinson and former Deputy Auditor/Treasurer Debbie Symanietz and added current Auditor/Treasurer Shannon Coyle and current Deputy Auditor/Treasurer Breanna Mikkelsen to authorized access and signers for Morrison County’s accounts at Edward Jones;

    • Approved a resolution and authorized Public Works Director Tony Hennen to execute the MnDOT Professional and Technical Services Contract for the Phase I Archaeological Survey and the Phase II Evaluation for the County-State Aid Highway 21 Bridge replacement Project with the contractor, The 106 Group, Ltd., at a cost of up to $55,534.62;

    • Authorized the Public Works Department to enter into an agreement with Advanced Weighing Systems, Inc. (AWS) to upgrade scale software and credit card processing at the Morrison County Solid Waste Management Facility due to an AWS credit card processing vendor change, at a cost of $4,050;

    • Approved an updated Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) resolution and designated appointees due to retirement and hired staff, with the current staff authorized to initiate EFTs being Coyle, Mikkelson, Account Specialist Jaden Hanfler, Account Specialist - Election Administrator Joyce Kahl and Account Technician Nicholas Scholl, with Human Resources Manager Elizabeth Berg and Payroll Specialist Melissa Sanoski being authorized to initiate EFTs for payroll purposes only;

    • Approved a resolution for the Morrison Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) to act as fiscal agent for the Morrison County Historical Society, a nonprofit 501C(3) organization, for the purpose of completing streambank stabilization and restoration at the Charles A. Weyerhaeuser Memorial Museum location on the Mississippi River;

    • Approved a new 2 a.m. liquor license/permit for Midwest MN Hospitality LLC, doing business as The Cave Bar & Grill; and

    • Approved an Interim Use Permit to expand an existing auto repair business located in Section 15 in Buh Township under the conditions that the applicant, Robert Monson, abides by all applicable state and local laws regarding automotive repair and proper disposal of fluids and wastes, maintains records of disposal of automotive fluids and wastes and provides for review of records at the request of the Land Services Department, does not store vehicles or vehicle components outside, except for the vehicles on site for service, and accepts that the Interim Use Permit will terminate when Monson ceases to own the property.

    The next Morrison County Board of Commissioners meeting is a planning session at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, in the Board Room at the Morrison County Government Center.
