Eric Braeden Obliterates ‘Young And The Restless’ Fan For Racist Post About His Co-Stars

The Young and the Restless star Eric Braeden is looking out for his co-stars.

Soap Opera Digest reports that a racist post was shared on X on May 31 targeting series stars Sean Dominic, Christel Khalil , and Bryton James, who portray Nate, Lily Winters, and Devon, respectively. The post featured an image with the three actors, with the X user claiming that they are “the three faces that are destroying the show.”

“They all think their [sic] high and mighty when they’re not, can’t wait for someone to put these slaves in their place,” the caption continued.

According to the outlet, a screenshot of the post was shared on X on Thursday (June 20), which caught the attention of Yvette Nicole Brown — who previously guest starred on the show — who retweeted it and tagged The Young and the Restless ‘ X account. Brown also pointed out that said user was also blocked by General Hospital ‘s account “for this same level of racism.”

Braeden shot back at the derogatory remark toward his colleagues, commenting on Brown’s post, “These three actors are dear colleagues of mine; they have more class than you LOW LIFE can imagine! We are going to block your racist ass, you got that, bitch??!!”

As highlighted in Brown’s post, and as noted by Soap Opera Digest and TV Insider , this post about Dominic, Khalil, and James wasn’t said X user’s first offense. They reportedly had previously posted racist remarks about General Hospital star Tabyana Ali. On June 9, Ali addressed the hatred she’s received on X, while the ABC soap also issued a statement condemning racism on Tuesday (June 18), although the post did not single out any stars by name.

Braeden has portrayed Victor Newman on the CBS soap since 1980, and in August 2023, shortly after breaking the news that he was cancer free, he shot down any idea of retirement in an interview with Fox News Digital .

“No, hell no, no, no. I’ve known friends and colleagues of mine … athletic friends of mine who suddenly are retired. And now what? Pickleball?” he teased.

In April 2024, he offered another positive update to Entertainment Tonight , telling the outlet that his “cancer diagnosis right now is on hold,” proceeding to extend his gratitude to “very good doctors and very good modern cancer treatment which has improved enormously.”
