The Washington state Department of Health (DOH) has selected the Coastal Community Action Program (CCAP) and AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) to provide HIV case management in four Washington counties, including Lewis County.

On Thursday, the DOH announced that CCAP and AHF would provide case management services in Lewis, Mason, Pierce and Thurston Counties. According to DOH, HIV case management helps people with HIV obtain, stay connected to, and benefit from health care services.

The DOH has provided these services since mid-October, though it will now transition them to CCAP and AHF.

According to DOH, AHF is a nonprofit organization that specializes in HIV/AIDS medical care and currently operates a healthcare center in King County. AHF is also contracted with DOH to provide prevention-focused services in Thurston County and will begin case man agement on July 1.

CCAP previously operated in Grays Harbor and Pacific counties and expanded its case management services into Mason, Thurston and Lewis counties on June 1. As part of the services, CCAP will open new locations in Aberdeen, Centralia and Olympia.
