A giant Mastiff trying to convince a small Grandma to give him a bit of her sandwich is expert-level hilarious because it works.

On June 17, 2024, TikTok user Bowser the Mastiff (@bowserthemastiff) showed how being persistent sometimes really does work — at least on his Grandma. Take a look!

In the 90-second video , we meet Bowser, a beautiful Mastiff who is really hoping to get a bit of a sandwich that his Grandma is enjoying.

"When 4ft 10in Grandma says 'No,' but I'm cute and persistent," the text on the video reads. And in the clip Grandma is seated at the table and it looks like there's a delicious sandwich in front of her. Bowser is standing at the table, and he's taller than the table itself and almost as tall as Grandma is seated in the chair.

"No, no, no," Grandma tells Bowser. "You're a good boy, but no." The whole time, Bowser tries to inch toward the sandwich she's holding in her hands, and she redirects him each time. When she says no, he sits back down without breaking eye contact with the sandwich, and the loop continues.

"It's bad for me to feed you," Grandma tells him.

Grandma then jokes that his mom is a pushover, but Mom, who is behind the camera, reminds Grandma that Bowser wants the sandwich she's holding. She tries just giving him some of the meat in the sandwich, which he wouldn't eat off the table, so Grandma offers it with her hand.

The whole video is adorable, as Grandma tries to resist giving the sweet dog some food and then watches just how persistent the sweet dog is about eating that sandwich.

Grandma shared her sandwich, giving him some pieces of the sandwhich he was able to eat. When the sandwich was done, Bowser seemed at least pleased with himself.

The video caption joked, "Who's a pushover?" And in the comments, people were very team Bowser and Grandma.

"Grandma will always be grandma," one person wrote.

    "He is beautiful," another shared.

"Grandma will always share," another TikTok viewer added.

    "Adorable," shared another.

"Come on, Grandma, Share your food, please," someone else egged on.

    How Big Do Mastiffs Get?

In the video, it is clear that this dog is well-loved and Grandma is a hoot. Another stand-out is just how big Bowser is in comparison to the table and Grandma, who is nearly the same size as the doggy while seated in a chair.

But how big do Mastiffs get? According to the American Kennel Club , the Mastiff breed is known as being "dignified, good-natured, and courageous" and for being really big dogs.

The average height of a Mastiff is up to 30 inches from the back to the bottom of the foot, so it's taller when you account for its big head. Males can weigh up to 230 pounds, which is like a full-grown, healthy human man, which can be intimidating.

But one thing that makes Mastiffs stand out along with their height is that they're really affectionate with family, they're great with young children, and very protective.

"Mastiffs are patient, lovable companions and guardians who take best to gentle training," the American Kennel Club shares. " Eternally loyal Mastiffs are protective of family, and a natural wariness of strangers makes early training and socialization essential. Mastiffs are magnificent pets, but acquiring a powerful giant-breed dog is commitment not to be taken lightly."

We love seeing the bond between Bowser and his tiny Grandma, and it's clear these to love each other very much.
