Terri Alessi-Miceli leads activities and initiatives for HIA-LI, a regional economic development organization that provides a forum for business leaders to problem solve, collaborate and obtain advice on critical issues facing their businesses.

HIA-LI is headquartered in, and advocates for, the Long Island Innovation Park at Hauppauge, one of the largest industrial parks in the Northeast, with more than 1,300 companies employing 55,000 people and producing over $13 billion in economic output. Under Alessi-Miceli’s leadership, HIA-LI plays a vital role in combatting Long Island issues such as transportation, workforce development and affordable living. HIA-LI initiatives promote strategic partnerships, information sharing and business advocacy. Its annual Business Trade Show and Conference is Long Island’s largest B2B trade show.

Prior to her tenure with HIA-LI, Alessi-Miceli served as managing director of Dale Carnegie Training for more than 18 years, with responsibility for the profitability and productivity of the company’s Long Island instructional and sales teams.

Alessi-Miceli is a board member of Discover Long Island, the region’s tourism bureau, and a former board member of the Long Island Regional Planning Council, the New York League of Conservation Voters and the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County.

In 2006, Long Island Cares recognized Alessi-Miceli with its Harry Chapin Humanitarian Award. Her other accolades include multiple recognitions from LIBN, such as being named to the Top 50 Women in Business Hall of Fame and a Top CEO. Most recently, Alessi-Miceli was honored by state Sen. Mario R. Mattera with a 2024 New York State Woman of Distinction Award.
