The disappearance of a 19-year-old British man in Spain who has been missing while on holiday in Tenerife still remains unresolved. Spanish authorities have rejected help from the British police in their ongoing investigation for missing teenager Jay Slater .

Jay, an apprentice bricklayer, was on an excursion with his close associate Lucy Mae attending a three-day festival when he went off accommodation arrangements to stay with new friends he had met during the trip.

However, it is believed that Jay never returned from his new friends' Airbnb where he had stayed until Sunday. The Airbnb's proprietress alleged to have last seen Jay ascending the slope near the vacation dwelling she manages, located within the confines of a secluded nature reserve called Tural de Teno.

She recounted: "It's dangerous walking around here, it's easy to lose yourself. He walked up the road when I saw him for the last time. He was alone. He was walking normally, though he was fast."

Despite the impressive turnout of search teams involving helicopters, drones and sniffer dogs in notable numbers across the hilly region, no significant breakthrough has been reported yet. Though sympathetic towards the plight of Jay's distressed relatives, a formal comment had not been made by the Lancashire Police regarding this case until they said in a statement: "First and foremost, our thoughts are with Jay's family at this time. They must be going through the most distressing ordeal not knowing what has happened to their loved one."

The local law enforcement officers finally confirmed that their offer to assist the Guardia Civil of Tenerife in the quest for Jay was turned down, intensifying the anxiety of his mates who regretted the impossibility of sharing updates.

"We have specialist officers who are continuing to support Jay's family. Whilst this case falls outside the jurisdiction of UK policing, we have made an offer of support to the Guardia Civil to see if they need any additional resources."

"They have confirmed that at this time they are satisfied that they have the resources they need, but that offer remains open and they will contact us should that position change. Once again, our thoughts remain with Jay's family and friends at this distressing time."

The force's statement was released following Debbie Duncan, Jay's mother, revealing that police have noticed "noise" online that is impacting the investigation. She commented: "We've been there [the police station] all day today, and I think it's been stepped up. We've had a problem with the language barrier. It's difficult with all the Spanish police and British police; they have to let the Spanish police do the investigation."

"They [the police] have actually said that there's too much noise - that's affecting it. They've got all the plans, their locations. They have got this map they were showing us, all shaded in different colors."

Fresh video evidence has surfaced showing the missing teenager attending a party in Tenerife just hours prior to his mysterious disappearance. The video, which was circulated on social media, is said to be the last visual record of the young man - depicting him at a crowded club, chattering and mingling with fellow revelers as music blares.

The room, dimly lit, is packed with energetic party attendees, and the camera briefly focuses on a spot where someone believed to be Jay can be seen. As he walks past the frame, the footage slows down, taking a closer look at his passing figure.

This video has thus taken the internet by storm, amassing over 2.2 million views, thousands of likes and comments on TikTok.

Meanwhile, a fundraising campaign established by a friend aiming to "get Jay Slater home" has already managed to garner more than £24,000. A spokesperson for the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office stated: "We are supporting the family of a British man who has been reported missing in Spain and are in contact with the local authorities."
