KROGER has apologized after a customer encountered a big problem when paying with the app at the gas station.

The angry motorist said they were double-charged, which put their bank account into overdraft.

Kroger operates 1,006 gas stations across the United States and customers can pay for their fuel via the Kroger app.

The app allows a convenient payment option where customers can also redeem their Fuel Points.

However, one user reported an issue last week on X.

"Kroger, the app double charges when using the gas station pay function,"' they wrote.

"It's over-drafted my account twice... HELP."

    Kroger jumped in to respond.

"Hi! We're sorry to hear this!" the grocer wrote.

"Please send us a private message with your rewards card number or alternate ID so that we can further assist. Please also verify the name and email address on the account. Thank you!"

However, issues at the gas station are far from the only problems Kroger shoppers are experiencing.

Social media is rife with angry customers sharing their frustrations with the store.

    CHECKED OUT

One recently called out the store on X for not having enough self-checkout stations open.

"Kroger why do you have 20 self-checkout terminals and only one or two open?" the customer asked.

"That creates a line down an aisle and do not make me stop to check a receipt if you don’t want to pay someone to check me out."

Like many stores, Kroger checks customers' receipts as they leave as an anti-theft measure.

Another Kroger customer has accused the store of charging too much for an everyday item.

They said they found the same can of McCafe coffee at Target for three quarters the price.

"Why do you continue to charge $18 a can for this coffee while Target stores charge $13.50 for the exact same stuff?" they asked on X.

"Is it simply 'What the market will bear?' Or are you simply price gouging your loyal customers?"

Another Kroger customer says they will never order home delivery again following a debacle.

And see which Kroger store is due to be demolished.
