“AGT”: Sibling Group L6 Nails Celine Dion Hit & Fulfills Late Mother’s Dream

The Filipino group L6 took the AGT stage to perform Celine Dion’s All By Myself , and a surprise intervention by Simon Cowell led them to a “unanimous yes.”

L6, which consists of five siblings and their niece, earned themselves an early release video after discovering they had the makings of an acapella group mid-audition, thanks to Simon.

The group began their performance by emotionally sharing they were there to fulfill their late mother’s dream, and when they jumped into the lyrics, they carried their emotions with them. The audience and judges, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Sofia Vergara, were amazed by their vocals. Simon, however, was “distracted.” So he forced them to stop.

“Everyone, I wanna say something,” he shared as the crowd loudly booed. “There are a lot of singing groups. I’m gonna do something, which I think is gonna help you. Lose the track… In my opinion, the track was terrible. And there aren’t that many great acapella groups, and I think you’ve got the potential to be a great acapella group.”

With the crowd cheering again, L6 took Simon’s advice and dove in without the background music. Surprisingly, they effortlessly adjusted their performance and gave a stunning audition.

L6 stood for a tearful standing ovation after they finished their song, and the judges had nothing but respect and praise once the audience quieted.

“You could tell instantly, this is a great singing group. How you just took on everything without a track— you were more unique. It was more special. It was more memorable. And you just absolutely nailed that.”

All four judges excitedly voted “yes” so L6 could advance to the live shows where they could win the $1 million prize. If they take the crown, they will buy a “big, big house for the family” because they are currently staying in a “small” rental with four other adults and four children.

“We have ten siblings, and my sister has four children,” a singer shared. “Our dream is to buy a big house so we can be comfortable.”
