HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – A man’s life was saved after a group of people witnessed an aircraft crash into a lake in Breckinridge County Kentucky.

This happened Friday at Fly-In at the Falls, an event for pilots of ultra-light aircrafts that are lighter than 250 pounds.

The organizer for the event Brennan Morgan says one of the pilots accidently flew under powerlines and was forced to crash into Rough River Lake to avoid them.

Morgan says that the pilot fell almost 80 feet down into the lake. Thats when he says a group of people came to the pilot’s rescue.

Morgan says that the pilot was pinned face down on the water by the aircraft. He was caried onto a boat and taken to shore where he was flown to a Louisville hospital.

The pilot suffered a collapsed lung, a concussion and serval lacerations on his arms from the crash.

Morgan says the pilot is recovering from his injuries faster than expected.
