Man arrested in connection to Rocket City Toys burglary

OWENS CROSS ROADS, Ala. (WHNT) — The Madison County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man they believe is responsible for a string of small business burglaries in the Owens Cross Roads area last month.

According to MSCO, 65-year-old Michael Thomas has been arrested and charged with two counts of burglary and violation of probation.

MSCO said they conducted extensive surveillance from the businesses of a suspect and a vehicle over several days leading them to identify Thomas. MCSO said detectives caught Thomas’s vehicle at a Circle K in Hampton Cove, leading to his arrest.

According to MCSO, Thomas was found with burglary tools, and additional criminal charges are expected to be filed against him.

Thomas is being held at the Madison County Jail on a $20,500 bond.
