This event raised not muddy money, but clean money for a great cause

MINDEN, WV (WVNS) – People gathered at Ace Adventure Resort to help raise some money for a good cause.

The Gritty Chix Mud Run was hosted at Ace Adventure Resort.

Teams that signed up made their way through an obstacle course with tubes, walls, and most of all, mud. This race benefited a non-profit organization called New River Conservancy.

Dave Bassage, New River Gorge Program Coordinator with New River Conservancy, said working with Ace Adventure Resort has always been a pleasure.

“It’s great. They’ve been great partners. We work with them on river cleanups, we’ve held meetings here in the past. The local business community that thrives in this water shed likes to support our efforts,” said Bassage.

Bassage told 59News that their mission focuses on numerous aspects of nature. Specifically, in the Appalachian Region.

“We’re a conversation organization that covers the entire New River Water Shed. It starts in North Carolina, flows through Virginia, and goes to West Virginia. Basically, we are concerned with the waters, woodlands, and wildlife in the entire New River Water Shed,” said Bassage to 59News.

The Gritty Chix Mud Race was an action packed event that not only brought the community together, but helped raise not muddy, but clean money for a great cause.
