The master spy novelist, Ian Fleming created a character that has withstood the test of time. James Bond 007, is a British spy equipped with genius, wit, and raw courage to keep the world safe from the most evil criminals.

Since its conception with the release of Dr. No in 1962, there have been 27 Bond movies made. James has been played by several different actors but none as prominent as Sean Connery.

In my opinion, the third of his movies has to be his biggest and the best - 007: Goldfinger.

It was released in 1964 and starred Sean Connery as James Bond, Gert Fröbe as Auric Goldfinger, Shirley Eaton as Jill Masterson, and Honor Blackman as Pussy Galore.

I was only 9 years old when it came out and I was in love with it instantly. To a young lad, Bond movies were like soft porn. The theme song of Goldfinger composed by John Barry and performed by Shirley Bassey was sassy and seductive. Hell, everything about the movie was about the early sixties sexual revolution.

This movie was where Bond got many of his famous phrases like, "I'll have a Martini - Shaken! Not stirred!" His car and many of its gadgets became standard because of the movie Goldfinger.

In the rankings of all 27 Bond movies - 007: Goldfinger, ranks the highest with a 99% on the Rotten Tomatoes chart.

Happy Birthday 007: Goldfinger and to all the James Bonds who have entertained us through the decades -

    Cheers!
