RALEIGH — The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission will increase fees for hunting, fishing, trapping and activity licenses, permits, stamps and certifications starting Monday.

The fee adjustments are based on the total increase in the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers since the last fee increase on Jan. 1, 2020, and help with operating costs exacerbated by inflation and increased demand for its services, the agency said in a press release.

The NCWRC is funded by the sale of licenses, vessel titles and registrations, federal grants, general fund appropriations and other receipts. Funds generated from license sales make up, on average, about 25% of the agency’s annual revenue.

The fees are used to support agency programs focused on species management, habitat enhancement, enforcement, education and public access.

To purchase a license, visit gooutdoorsnorthcarolina.com or a Wildlife Service Agent.
