Extreme Heat Tuesday; Marginal Risk Wednesday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A Heat Advisory has been issued for Henry, Carroll, Benton, and Decatur Counties from 11am until 8pm Tuesday. Feels like temps could reach up to 107! Drink lots of water and take breaks in the ac.

The record high was set back in 1988 at 101°. Highs tomorrow could get close to the record, but the chance to break the record is slim. For now, the heat risk for tomorrow is at the moderate level (level 2) so make sure to limit your time outside if you are sensitive to heat.

A Marginal Risk (level 1 out of 5) has been issued for most of Middle TN and all of Southern KY for Wednesday. A cold front will come through bringing the chance for strong thunderstorms, and some could be severe.

Showers and storms look to fire up after lunchtime and become more widespread during the ride home from work. They do move out by midnight.

The main threats from these storms will be heavy rain, lightning, and gusty winds.
