Amanda Balionis brings golf legend to tears in interview after McIlroy romance rumors

Scottie Scheffler held his newborn son during an interview with Amanda Balionis after his win at the Travelers Championship. The American professional golfer achieved his sixth victory in his last ten starts on Sunday and was all smiles when talking to Balionis, who recently sparked romance rumors .

Excited at the victory, Shceffler's wife Meredith made her way down to her husband with their newborn son. "There he is. Are you so proud of him?" she could be heard saying to their son Bennett.

Sunday marked Sheffler's second victory since the birth of his son. Speaking to Balionis , the golfer revealed how his life outside of golf has changed since his son was born.

"I would say the afternoons when we get home look a bit different," he admitted. "There’s much less sitting around and watching TV.

"It’s sitting around trying to figure out what’s going on with our little ones, but it’s been a ton of fun. I’m fortunate to be surrounded by great friends out here and it’s awesome."

Meanwhile, the golfer described his new downtime in a previous interview. "Meredith and Bennett were there, so we just hung out, changed a diaper, and tried to get him to stop crying," he said.

Balionis took to Instagram to share a snap of the sweet moment with Scheffler. She wrote the caption: "To watch Scottie’s pure joy the moment he steps off the course to celebrate with Bennett and @meredithscheffler is one of the cooler things we get to witness this season. World Number 1 does it again."

This past weekend's tournament was met with much drama. Over the weekend, climate protestors had to be removed by police after they stormed the 18th hole.

Rory McIlroy was also supposed to be competing in the Traveler's Championship but pulled out last minute . The Northern Irish golfer shared a message on social media explaining his feelings as he announced his withdrawal from the Traveler's Championship at TPC River Highlands in Connecticut.

This came as rumors continued to swirl about a romance between McIlroy and presenter Balionis .
