THREE RIVERS – A destination eatery in St. Joseph County closed for good over the weekend.

Fisher Lake Inn, a Park Township gathering place for nearly four decades, closed at the end of the business day Friday.

The restaurant issued a statement on social media.

“Fisher Lake Inn would like to thank all of our loyal customers who have supported the Fisher Lake Inn family over the years. After 38 wonderful years in business, we have come to the hard decision to close our doors. We can no longer sustain the massive labor shortage and continued rising cost of operations.”

Meanwhile, the following was on a note taped to the restaurant’s front door: “Due to a massive labor shortage and rising cost of operations, we are forced to close our doors permanently.”

Anyone with a gift card is asked to mail it to the restaurant and include a return address, and a reimbursement check will be sent, according to the posting.

Located on the eastern shore of Fishers Lake on M-60, Fisher Lake Inn offered a spectacular view of the lake from the inside as well as from its porch dining area.

Attempts to reach owner Jeff Truckey over the weekend were unsuccessful.
