WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Two teens are wanted after police say they assaulted a 14-year-old stabbing him in the back multiple times.

On June 22 around 3:00 a.m., police were called to the 300 block of Old River Road in Wilkes-Barre for a reported stabbing.

Once on the scene officers said the 14-year-old victim told them he was walking on Old River Road when he was approached by two teens, between the ages of 15-18, who challenged him to a fight.

The victim claimed he engaged in a fight with both suspects and one of the suspects took out a firearm and hit the victim in the face with it, police stated.

Officers say the victim tried to flee the scene, however, he fell to the ground and one of the suspects repeatedly stabbed him in the lower back.

Both suspects fled the area, and the victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

    The investigation is ongoing.
