Directed and produced by Michael Beach Nichols, the three-part documentary tells the fascinating true story of Sherri, a wife and mother of two who leads an idyllic family life in California. When she suddenly vanishes, a nationwide search ensues, drawing the attention of several media outlets. Unfortunately, as the authorities struggle to solve this case, they don't make much progress—and it becomes clear that her marriage was not what it seemed.

PureWow's VP of News and Entertainment Philip Mutz checked out the series—which, FYI, debuted as at number one on Hulu's list of most-watched series—and said, "This show is absolutely riveting. The story is off-the-wall and almost feels too bonkers to be true. If you love watching a 20/20 true-crime special as much as I do, you need to check this out."
However, he advises against watching the spoiler-filled trailer —unless you're the kind of person who loves reading the last page of a book first. Mutz said, "A word of warning: Do not watch the trailer. As much as I appreciate Hulu for bringing me this gem, they probably should have given a second look at the trailer as it gives way too many twists away (though not all of them, to be fair). Do yourself a favor and dive into the show blind. It's a much much better experience. Also, another word of warning: Don't Google the story until after you've watched as a lot of spoilers are already floating around the internet."

I won't reveal too much, but I will say that there are plenty of shocking twists and revelations to keep you on the edge of your seat. The docuseries features interviews with Sherri's friends, family members and loved ones, including her sister, Sheila Koester. Multiple FBI agents and local authorities who were involved in the case also reveal details from the investigation.
