Mindy Kaling secretly welcomes baby as she shares first photo and sweet name

Mindy Kaling has welcomed her third baby, surprising fans with the news on Instagram .

The 45-year-old revealed that she had the baby back in February but announced the news on June 24, the actress' birthday. She shared some sweet snaps on Instagram as she shared the news.

The first photo was of her two eldest children Katherine, six, and Spencer, three, surrounding the newborn while laying outside in the backyard. The second was of Mindy while she was pregnant , cradling her bump and wearing a dress with orange flowers on it. In the third photo, Mindy was in a hospital bed, either about to give birth or already did, while her two children sat on the bed opposite her with their backs to the camera.

"In late February I gave birth to my daughter, Anne," she wrote in the caption, "She’s the best birthday present I could’ve ever imagined."

Mindy continued: "When things are hard, whenever I veer towards cynicism, my three kids are such a great reminder of the pure joy in my life. I’m so lucky I live in a place where I could do this by myself, on my own timeline. Thanks for all the birthday wishes!"

In the comment section of the posts, fans shared their shock and delight at the news. "The way you’ve shocked us 3 times with 3 different kids! CONGRATULATIONS!!!" one fan commented.

"You are stealthy with your pregnancies!!! Gorgeous!!" another added. Celebrities also shared their excitement about Mindy's child.

The Office alum has never shown the faces of her children, or disclosed who their father is. In a 2019 interview with the New York Times, Mindy said: "My feeling is that, until I speak to my daughter about that, I'm not going to talk to anyone else about it."

Tan France, Queer Eye star, wrote: "Oh my gosh, Mindy, I’m so happy for you!!" Reese Witherspoon commented on Mindy's caption: "Beautifully said."

Actress Octavia Spencer made sure to wish the new mom of three a happy birthday. She wrote: "Happy birthday role model queen of queening."
