Over the years, Mindy Kaling has welcomed three kids .

To keep her personal life private, Mindy has kept her three pregnancies a secret.

Katherine Swati

Mindy revealed she welcomed her first child on December 15, 2017 – though the father’s identity of father has not been revealed.

Her daughter, Katherine ‘Kit’ Kaling, was named after renowned actress Katharine Hepburn.

In August 2023, Mindy took Kit to her first concert to see Taylor Swift during her Eras Tour.

Sharing the moment on Instagram, Mindy wrote: “She swapped friendship bracelets all night and got to hear her favorite Taylor song live, ‘Cruel Summer!’ It was such a magical night.”

She shared that Kit started kindergarten the following month.

Spencer Avu

Mindy shared the news of the birth of her second child , Spencer, while appearing on The Late Show .

Before she announced the news , host Stephen Colbert said:  “I got something I rarely get these days, which is good news, so if you wouldn’t mind sharing with our audience I think they’d be thrilled to find out something extraordinary that nobody knows up until this moment.”

The Mindy Project star continued: “Yes, I’m telling it for the first time now. It feels so strange.

“I gave birth to a baby boy on September 3.”

Adding that the pregnancy was a secret, she continued: “This is news to a lot of people. It’s true!”

The proud mom added: “His name is Spencer. I forgot the most important part of it.”

She said giving birth during the coronavirus pandemic was scary but added Spencer was doing well .

She told Elle that it was not difficult to hide the pregnancy .

“It was not too bad,” she told the magazine. “I mean, clearly, I was not going anywhere, like everybody else, so nobody found me out.

“So that was kind of easy. And then just being at home and taking photos, I’d largely just kind of shot around my pregnancy.

“Shot myself from the waist up and then also wore baggy things. I never got super huge, so it was a little bit easier.”

Anne

On June 24, 2024, Mindy revealed she had given birth to her second daughter and third child , Anne.

In an Instagram post, The Office actress revealed Anne was born in February.

“In late February I gave birth to my daughter, Anne,” the post began with a picture of Spencer and Kit cuddling Anne.

“She’s the best birthday present I could’ve ever imagine.

“When things are hard, whenever I veer towards cynicism, my three kids are such a great reminder of the pure joy in my life.”

She went on to pay tribute to her strength as a single mother, saying: “I’m so lucky I live in a place where I could do this by myself, on my own timeline.”

Before Mindy became a mom of three, she “was never a ‘kid’ person,” in a since-deleted Instagram post.

“When my mom passed though, it just clicked in me: I wanted kids with such intense certainty.

“Now I’m just trying to be present for them (hard for me! I’m impatient!), being up for anything (again hard for me, I am not whimsical!), and stay healthy for these two guys (ALSO hard! I just want to eat cheesesteaks every meal in front of the TV) for until I’m an old gray skeleton they’re like ‘mom, you gotta go.'”
