Some cities are for passing by, but Columbus is meant for staying awhile .

Hanna, here . I have officially lived in Columbus for 10 years, and as I was reflecting on my time, I kept going back to one question. What has made it so special to stick around all this time ? Here’s what I’ve decided:

    Big name concerts and shows

Some of the biggest names in the world come to Columbus, and over the years I’ve had the chance to see them in action. I’ve seen Morgan Wallen, Beyoncé, and Luke Combs outside at Ohio Stadium. I also danced the night away to Kenny Chesney twice at the Historic Crew Stadium, and Drake at the Schottenstein Center to name a few.

    Major sporting events

The Buckeyes stole my heart after my first game in Ohio Stadium as a freshman at Ohio State. Ever since, I’ve immersed myself in the sports action in CBUS. I was lost in the confetti after the Buckeye women’s basketball team won the Big Ten regular season, I was part of the champagne showers as the Crew won the MLS Cup, and I danced with the Savannah Bananas during their stint at Huntington Park.

    City life and suburb communities

It took me awhile to get acclimated to the hustle and bustle of city life ( especially parking and driving — it only took about 10+ parking tickets and tows for me to learn my lesson). But I’ve grown to love the excitement, the skyline, and endless list of things to do each weekend.

There’s also a sense of community and action in each suburb as well. I live in a peaceful neighborhood in Grandview Heights, I teach trampoline fitness classes at The Bounce Club in Powell, and I love to try new restaurants like Cento in German Village and the DIY craft bar Makers Social in Franklinton.
