It's hard being a Pottery Barn girl living in a Walmart world, but just when you thought these two stores couldn’t coincide, we are here to tell you that they can! In this modern decor era dupes, which means replicas of high-end products at low-end costs, are plentiful, as big discounted department stores got the memo, helping all of us broke girlies with expensive taste out!

How to Get the Pottery Barn Stain Finish on a DIY

Perhaps the most notable thing about Pottery Barn is their wooden pieces, specifically the rustic finish of them. This finish is actually quite easy to achieve as a DIYer, and here’s how!

All you need are a few textured brushes that have thick fibrous hairs on them, much like a tar brush. To get the look, first sand down your piece of furniture, then add a coat of thin paint spray. Uses the thick-haired brush to “paint” on even strokes of a wood stain of choice, opting for a lighter tone to get the true look of a Pottery Barn finish.
