NEW LOOK: Rick and Morty: The Anime Previews Ridiculous Gun Fight

Adult Swim has revealed a fresh look at Rick and Morty spinoff series, Rick and Morty: The Anime .

In a clip posted on its YouTube channel, we’re treated to a wild gunfight at Jerry and Beth’s house. A horde of suited men wielding guns storm in, and Jerry produces a katana to deal with them. “Way to go, dad!” shouts Summer in dubbed Japanese. Beth is also a cyborg.

It’s weird stuff, even for a show as seemingly boundary-less as Rick and Morty. That’s what you get with the multiverse, though - anything can happen.

And that’s just the start. Next, a man in sunglasses drives past in a car and shoots a rocket at the house, only for anti-vehicle turrets to pop out on the house’s roof and fire back, all as the freeze frames highlight the action.

It’s so strange, some people are questioning whether or not it’s real. “They gotta just be trolling at this point,” writes one commenter on YouTube. Another says, “What happened to the budget?”

Written and directed by Takashi Sano, who directed past episodes in the show such as Rick and Morty vs. Genocider and Summer Meets God ( Rick Meets Evil ), Rick and Morty: The Anime is a ten episode long series produced by Sola Entertainment.
