A train crashed into a debris-hauling truck Monday morning in eastern Leon County.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the wreck, which occurred just before 11 a.m. in the Chaires area of the county, said Matt Cavell, a Leon County spokesperson. No one was hurt.

Brian Thomason, the president of disaster response for AshBritt, the county's debris removal contractor, said a trailer being pulled by one of the company's trucks was "clipped" by a train as it went over a railroad crossing.

The empty trailer was overturned but the truck pulling it wasn't damaged. The driver wasn't injured, he said.

"The accident is still under investigation by FHP, so we don't have the full details of what exactly transpired," Thomason said. "I'm waiting to hear information about it myself." A call to FHP was not immediately returned.
