HARRISON COUNTY, Ohio (WTRF) — It’s a tradition in one local county that dates back nearly two centuries.

The 177th Harrison County Fair is underway.

Opening ceremonies were held Monday afternoon.

It included a flag-raising and several speakers.

It goes through Sunday and will include live music, rides, games, and livestock shows.

And don’t forget the always popular grandstand events featuring side-by-side and quad racing, the truck and tractor pull, and, of course, the old-school demolition derby on Friday.

Our biggest thing, of course, is our junior fair program. That comes up first, and all of our queens and princesses and kings and all that will be awarded. In the grandstand, the show tonight is motocross. Usually, there are a lot of pros here. It gets pretty exciting.”

Richard Everhart, President, Harrison County Fair Board

This year’s fair also features a new 30-stall horse barn, which allows for additional shows, a practice area, and clinics for junior riders.
