A segment on Monday’s edition of The Five on Fox News got heated when Jeanine Pirro repeatedly interrupted liberal co-host Richard Fowler .
The table discussed the murder of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray, who police say was killed by two undocumented immigrants. According to NBC News, the men illegally crossed the border in March, were apprehended , and were given notices to appear at an immigration hearing before being released.
Republicans have seized on the case as an example of President Joe Biden’s failed border and immigration policies.
“These suspects, if they’re found guilty, the whole book should be thrown at them,” Fowler said. “This is heinous–”
“Death penalty?” Pirro interrupted.
“Sure,” he replied. “But I think that we also, too, in this country, we believe in nuance and bright lines. And I think there’s a clear bright line between these two individuals that you’re watching on your screen and an infant that crosses the border with their mother.”
As Fowler continued to distinguish between immigrants who commit violent crimes and immigrants who are simply seeking a better life in the U.S., Pirro interrupted him again:
FOWLER: …They did not make the choice to cross. They crossed with their family and now all they wanna do is assimilate–
PIRRO: We’re not talking about Dreamers . We’re talking about illegals.
FOWLER: No, no, no.
PIRRO: We’re not talking about Dreamers. We’re talking about violent–
FOWLER: I did not interrupt you. According to–

FOWLER: I’m not changing the subject! I–
[CROSSTALK]
FOWLER: I am not changing the subject. And I did not interrupt you.
Pirro has a history of interrupting the lone liberal co-host while often accusing them of straying off-topic. Drama on the show has not been nearly as pronounced in recent months, as mainstay liberal co-host Jessica Tarlov is currently on maternity leave.
