Carl's Jr. has debuted its new zucchini star burger, a meat-free alternative to its famous charbroiled burgers.

It comes after the fast food chain discontinued the Beyond Burger, which featured a faux meat patty by the company of the same name.

This new, vegetable-based sandwich features a layer of crispy-fried zucchini served with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, sliced onions, dill pickles, special sauce, and mayo on a toasted sesame seed bun.

It's similar to the restaurant's famous star burger but with fried zucchini instead of a beef patty.

Already, fans are sharing their thoughts on the menu item on social media.

"I’m a meat eater, I would absolutely order this," wrote one on Reddit.

    "I love fried zucchini."

"Right? Same!" agreed a fellow Redditor.

    "This looks good."

"Fried zucchini is delicious," chimed in another.

One wrote: "Fried zucchini is delicious, I'm not even vegetarian and I kinda want this."

"As a vegetarian, I'm happy with this," said another.

"The fake meat was neat for a while but I think I prefer actual foods instead of things that were engineered in a laboratory."

    However, others were more skeptical.

"Vegetarians who hate zucchini like myself aren’t too happy about this," posted one.

"Their fried zucchini is always overcooked, mushy, and flavorless," said another.

The price for the zucchini star varies by location but is $4.39 at some Carl's Jr. restaurants.

Carl's Jr. is not the only fast food chain with some new items on the menu.

McDonald's is rolling out a $5 value meal.

And KFC fans are telling a new item to "get in my belly."
