Over 3.5 million visitors came to the state of Indiana on April 8 to watch the total solar eclipse.

The economic impact of the eclipse was approximately $148.5 million according to a statewide study by the Indiana Destination Development Corporation (IDDC).

"Indiana was a prime destination for the 2024 total solar eclipse," said Lieutenant Governor of Indiana. "Every part of our state experienced 100% or 90% totality, allowing everyone to witness this incredible event."

The tourists generated a 45% boost to regular visitor count and a 41.1% boost to regular visitor spending said a press release by the IDDC.
