NEW ORLEANS ( WGNO ) — Another hot one on the way Tuesday. Highs 91-96 across southeast Louisiana and south Mississippi. Heat Index 105-110+. Stay cool & hydrated.

Rain chances look to increase by mid-late week as weak frontal boundary decays over the region. Rain chances 50-60% each day Wednesday-Friday.

National Hurricane Center is now monitoring a tropical wave approaching the Trinidad & Tobago for possible development in ~5 days as it moves into the Western Caribbean.

No tropical threats in the near term for the Northern Gulf Coast.

NHC is giving a low, 20% chance of development by late week-weekend as disturbance nears Belize & the Yucatan Peninsula. Model guidance support has been hit/miss, but the Euro & GEFS Ensembles both highlight this area as a low-probability region of interest over the next week.

In addition, with record warm water temperatures in the East-Central Atlantic, model guidance has flirted with the idea of a few tropical waves with a bit more interest east of the Caribbean.

Let’s keep things rolling right along…shhh!
