The 1922 horror film Nosferatu is getting a remake this year, and film buffs can't wait .
On Monday the official trailer for the 21st version of Nosferatu debuted, causing the internet to erupt with commentary. The teaser had scenes with Johnny Depp's daughter Lily-Rose , who will portray Ellen Hutter, a haunted young woman in 19th century Germany , as she acted opposite of William Dafoe. William plays vampire hunter Professor Albin Eberhart Von Franz.
Robert Eggers' Nosferatu is popular gothic story about an "obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake," the Focus Features film described.

Online, several commented their thoughts on the movie and the cast, which includes Bullet Train star Aaron Taylor-Johnson, It star Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult of X-Men fame, and many more Hollywood stars in addition to Lily and William. Some were concerned if Lily would be able to handle such a major role since her most notable project is starring in the short-lived HBO series Idol last summer.
"[The] trailer's great. Not sure what the budget is, but the production looks amazing," one person wrote on social media. "Just some gentle teasing of the dulcet tones of Dafoe and Ineson. I'm still cautious about Lily Rose-Depp, but doesn't look like there's anything to worry about here. No direct looks at Skarsgard himself yet, and I hope they keep it that way. But I'm pumped."
Countless more talked about how excited they were for the movie's release, especially on Reddit.
"Cannot f------ wait. That shot of the hand literally looming large over the town was amazing," a horror fan mentioned in the Reddit forum.
Another agreed: "I f------ love it. I may be more excited for this than Alien: Romulus," meanwhile, a third person confessed, "Holy ----, this looks even better than I had expected it to be!"
While some were unsure about Lily's ability to capture the role, there were some who were "sold" after watching the teaser clip.
"I was initially worried that Lily looked too 'modern' for the movie but yeah I'm sold," one person admitted. "[I] was silly to doubt Eggers' vision in the first place."
Nosferatu premieres on Christmas Day.
