Beat the heat and try Wendy’s new limited-edition Frosty flavor for free through June 30 with the purchase of a $5 Biggie Bag. Order through the Wendy’s app to receive this special promotion celebrating five years of the meal deal, which includes a burger (or sandwich), nuggets, fries, and a drink.

Fast-food establishments rose in popularity by offering quick and inexpensive meal options. Many chains are reviving this trend with $5 meals as rising food costs have curbed family budgets for easy dining-out options.

Wendy’s has sweetened their deal by making Frostys available as part of the Biggie Bag and including their new flavor, Triple Berry.  (The Biggie Bag free Frosty deal also offers the classic chocolate flavor for the less adventurous.)

The newest flavor, which replaced the previous limited-edition Orange Dreamsicle flavor, may be a competitor for McDonald's famous Grimace shake...

The Triple Berry Frosty debuted on Monday, June 10, in stores across the U.S., making it the latest of the chain’s seasonal items. While it's unclear exactly how long the flavor will be available, it’s safe to guess — based on the Orange Dreamsicle’s three-month run — that it’ll only be on the menu for a few months.

You may also remember previous seasons' flavors; last summer’s strawberry frosty, last fall’s pumpkin spice frosty, and last winter’s peppermint frosty all followed similar months-long menu availability.

There were many mixed reactions to the news of the Triple Berry Frosty on social media.

One food reviewer who goes by the username @snackolator did not approve of the latest flavor. “It tastes like cough syrup, it really does,” they said in a post reviewing the item. “It’s got like a berry taste but there’s like an aftertaste that reminds me of DayQuil.”

One commenter who tried the flavor disagreed and said they “loved it.”

“It tastes like the @costco Berry Sundae all blended up.”

While many people seemed to be on board with the chain’s latest flavor, many also just wanted some of the old flavors back on the menu.

“Boooooo!!!!! Make the orange dreamsicle frosty permanent!!!!!!!” one person commented.

“They should just bring back the vanilla and call it a day,” someone else wrote.
