Former McDonald's corporate chef , Mike Haracz ( @chefmikeharacz ), has set the internet abuzz with his latest TikTok video . In it, he shares a hack for one of the legendary chain's breakfast offerings.

The ex- McDonald's staffer has developed quite a fan base on TikTok for his insights into the popular fast food establishment. On June 5, he shared a tip to level up the McDonald's bagel breakfast sandwich .

By Sunday evening, this video had been viewed over 76,000 times. He starts the video by stating, "I've heard other people have had success," and then adds, "but this is what you're going to want to do."

Haracz's first piece of advice involves simply selecting the right menu item: the bagel breakfast sandwiches. He mentions that not all locations may carry them (The Daily Dot reported in November 2022 that they were a feature in select locations).

While Haracz concedes that the bagel breakfast sandwich already tastes decent, he believes there's room for improvement. To him, the ingredient choice that lets the sandwich down is the egg.

"This egg? Hot garbage," he openly criticizes McDonald's use of a pre-frozen, folded egg on the bagel, which according to Haracz, only gets microwaved or grilled. "It is the worst egg that McDonald's has in the restaurant of all the egg options you could have," he firmly adds.

Former McDonald's chef Haracz has a tip for customers who aren't fans of the "hot garbage" folded egg on their bagel sandwiches. He recommends asking staff to swap it out for the scrambled eggs from the Big Breakfast meal, which are cooked fresh in the restaurant.

"It is [a] liquid egg product that they cook and hold, but it's more flavorful," he explained. "It's more tender." Haracz insists that this simple switch can significantly improve the sandwich.

"It is far superior," he claimed, urging patrons to give the hack a go and share their feedback. But what do the Golden Arches' regulars think of this insider advice?

In response to Haracz's video, several customers chimed in to say they've tried the hack and were impressed with the outcome. "I did it, they had no problem doing it," one commenter testified. "It was amazing! No up-charge either."

"I did this in Fort Worth, TX and it is the best," another concurred. "this works and it's fantastic," praised a third.

However, some McDonald's aficionados expressed a preference for the chain's round egg instead. "I do that but with the round egg from the McMuffin," a viewer suggested.

"I have always had them substitute 'round egg' for years," another shared. "The round egg is far superior!!! " a third enthusiast declared.

Yet, there were those who defended the standard bagel sandwich egg. "I actually prefer the pre-folded frozen eggs," one customer stated. "I actually love the folded egg," another supported.
