Dad's Aldi Haul Proves Why Shoppers Can't Get Enough of This Store

The first time I went to Aldi, I was overwhelmed by the shopping experience. If you’ve been, you’ll know it’s not your typical grocery store. And while navigating their setup may take a little time, the affordable prices at the register make it all worthwhile.
Even though this dad might have had to make a few extra trips through the aisles, it doesn’t take long to see why those extra steps paid off. Check out this video from June 19 to see his outstanding haul!
For seasoned shoppers like Luke (@ cookinginthemidwest ), choosing a less busy day like Tuesday can make the experience even more enjoyable. And it’s a smart day to go! I once overheard a manager telling a new employee that Thursdays were also a slower day because the new deals begin on Wednesdays, bringing many regulars in. But even on busier days, there’s a silver lining: your fellow shoppers are always ready to share their new favorite finds, helping us score those hidden gems.
He started in the produce section, where he picked up several packs of berries, bags of salad mix, and a large variety of other fruits and vegetables. He jokes that he chose the greenest bananas he could find because, while they are always in the house, no one ever eats them. Ha! That’s a common problem for many families. Next, he grabbed pickles, juice boxes, and various breads. Although he walked down what’s known by fans as the “Aisle of Shame,” he saved some money by skipping over these sensational options. You may find everything from throw rugs to clothing, candles, and cookware here. Although these limited-time offerings are always an exceptional value, they can definitely increase the amount of your bill.
Luke then loaded up on various cheeses, lunchmeats, dressings, and sauces. He also grabbed a few packs of bacon , several packages of sausages, Dino nuggets, and cream cheese. While he points out we may remember the cream cheese costing less than a dollar, at $1.75, it’s still cheaper than any grocery store. However, it is hard to believe how quickly these prices continue to climb. After picking up a few more items, including Rao’s marinara and ice cream, he headed to the register to see how much damage he had done. This bill could have been closer to $250 at a traditional grocery store, but at Aldi, he tells us this cart full of groceries was $168.76.
Although reusable and single-use bags are available for purchase, baggers are not available at this store. This is why he brought a few storage containers to load his groceries into, making them easy to transport when he got home. Smart!
This Dad’s shopping trip showcases why shopping at Aldi is always worthwhile. Not only are the prices unbeatable, but so is the quality.
