Both animals and humans sometimes find comfort with an object. Whether it’s a blanket, a pillow, or a stuffed toy, we sometimes form a deep bond with these items. In some cases, it’s a connection that can last a lifetime.

This sailing cat has unbreakable ties with her beloved stuffed dog. Check out this video from June 19 to see their charming love story.

What a beautiful life! Madeline lives on a sailboat (@ moxtheboat ) in the Mediterranean Sea with her parents, Megan and Leo. They explain she has been attached to her stuffed dog since she was a kitten. This plush toy is slightly larger than her, and she can regularly be seen snuggling with or lying on top of it. Sometimes, she’s content to hold its paw. She even brings it to bed at night to sleep with her parents. How adorable is that? When sailing, they report, “Dog is a permanent fixture of Maddie’s section of the companionway.” This stuffy is soft and loyal, so it’s easy to see why it’s her top choice. She loves her dog friend so much that she even gleefully gives it a massage. Who doesn’t enjoy a cat making biscuits on their back? As Megan points out, we should all be so fortunate to have something that brings us this much comfort.

Do Cats Form Connections to Security Objects?

Just like humans, they do! Many cat parents report that their kitty will carry around their favorite toy and meow . According to the Kitty Help Desk, this is especially true for felines raised without much interaction with other cats. They describe that they often bond to these toys as if they were their offspring. Way of Cats reveals pet parents can use security objects to help them feel more relaxed in our absence. They report that rubbing our scent on them and giving them to kittens or newly rescued cats can provide them with a soothing companion.

Pet parents understood this situation well. Viewer @effe.foti shared, “My cat is also called Maddie!! She’s obsessed with a fluffy blanket almost matching her fur color.” It must feel like an extension of her. Viewer @catbarefield remarked, “My cat has a life-size German shepherd plushy. His name is Chester.” Wow! That gives a kitty a lot to cuddle with. Viewer @awkwardstravel responded, “I love this video so much! Thank you, dog and Maddie, for such sweet, good vibes!” They are both precious!

One day, after I retire, I might consider sailing around the Mediterranean with my animals. It looks like an ideal way to see some spectacular sunrises and sunsets.
